The new budget will pay for many services, including road maintenance, law enforcement operations, record maintenance, health and welfare services, a court and probation system, veterans services, and emergency services There are 158 employees on the county payroll who will receive necessary con- tinuing education, equipment, and county vehicles as appropriate to complete their jobs.
When a citizen questioned giving county employees a 5% raise when federal benefits are being cut, Judge Daryl Fowler responded that the rate of pay needs to be sufficient to attract and keep skilled employees.
