Bats often have a bad reputation of being scary, stinky, dirty and nasty and often times face poisoning, roost destruction, and habitat loss.
However, the City of Cuero, Keep Cuero Beautiful, Chamber of Commerce, and Cuero Main Street recognize the importance that bats are a vital part of the ecosystem. They simply agree that the bats do not belong downtown.
Mayor Sara Meyer said, “I’d like to see the bats relocated to remove health concerns for those working or shopping in the downtown historic district on Main Street.”
