Pet organization makes plenty of progress in a year


In just over a year, Ron Ledbetter, president of Pet Adoptions of Cuero, estimates 100 dogs have been taken off the streets with the assistance of the organization. These dogs have either been adopted or taken to a larger shelter out of town.
Linda Anzaldua, second vice president, estimated the same figures applied to cats. 
“We’re a small town. There’s only so many you can adopt in a smaller town,” Linda said. “Luckily [these shelters] know we’re nonprofit. They know we treat the animals right and we get all the medical attention for them so they are taking our animals when they can.”
Although the organization has come a long way since it was formed in August 2012, club officers say it has a long way to go.
