For more than 13 years Deputy Santa and Yorktown’s Blue Santa have partnered together to help make the Christmas season more enjoyable for the children of DeWitt County. Sheriff Cliff Foulds began the project during his time in office and Sheriff Jode Zavesky has continued the tradition since 2005. This year Deputy Santa and Yorktown’s Blue Santa want to make an even greater impact on the lives of DeWitt County citizens by adopting deserving families who might need a little extra help this year.
The two organizations are asking for the community’s help by nominating deserving families in the area. To nominate a family, visit the DeWit County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page and send a message about the family along. Those who nominate a family must include their own contact phone number. Nominations may also be emailed to
Deputy Santa and Yorktown Blue Santa applications may be picked up at the sheriff’s office on 208 E. Live Oak St. in Cuero or Yorktown City Hall at 119 E. Main St. in Yorktown. Applications for the families will be accepted until Monday, Dec. 16.
