Another Tanker accident on Hwy. 119

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on State Highway 119, one mile south of the community of New Davy, was a tractor trailer accident.

The driver, Richard Boyd, 52 years old of Mathis, working for Texas Energy Service, was traveling south on State Highway 119. He started to run off the road to his right. While turning toward the left he overcorrected and lost control. The trailer, a 2006 Dragon, carrying salt water rolled one and one half times. Boyd, driving a 2012 Mac truck tractor was ejected out of his vehicle while the truck was spinning. Boyd landed nearly 40 feet from the cab. The truck rolled one time. 
Boyd was in critical condition and was air lifted by THI to the University Hospital in San Antonio. 
Yorktown PD, DeWitt County Sheriff’s office and the Department of Highway Patrol were at the scene along with Yorktown Volunteer Fire Department and Yorktown Emergency Medical Service.
Trooper Elizabeth Tolbert worked the scene.
