Yorktown Junior High honors top students

Yorktown Junior High School will be holding 8th Grade Promotion exercises at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, in the gym.
Brian Metting, son of Todd and Laurie Metting, is the first ranking student with a GPA of 93.9833.
Brian is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Student Council and a recipient of the “Y” award all three years in junior high. He played football, basketball, track and cross country as a 7th and 8th grader and was a member of the Wildcat Band. He has participated in UIL all three years in junior high and placed in numerous events. He is active in Holy Cross Catholic Church as an altar server.
The second ranking 8th grade student with a GPA of 93.6333 is Jessica Marie Garcia, daughter of Joe and Martha Garcia and the granddaughter of Jessie and Amelia Gutierrez and Mary Emma Garcia and the late Leonides Garcia, all of Yorktown.
