County supports effort opposing EPA changes

DeWitt County opposes a proposed rule change to the Clean Water Act and wants to reduce possible fraud in indigent health care claims.
A lengthy agenda at Monday’s meeting dealt with these issues and plans to get money back on a defective oil distribution road repair truck.
Ed Sager representing the local Farm Bureau insurance agency presented a resolution to the court asking for their support against a rule change involving the federal Clean Water Act.
Sager said proposed changes would allow Environmental Protection Agency and Corp of Engineers additional control of water sources. The rule change would apply to any water source that drains into rivers and oceans.
