Phillips presents Bell Award to Hilburn

The Cuero High School bell ceremony was held May 22. The ceremony allows the top ten graduates to recognize an educator. In addition to the top ten graduates, students who wish to do so are invited to submit an essay to CHS principal Michael Cavanaugh for consideration for the opportunity to present the 11th bell. This year, Caitlyn Phillips was chosen to present the 11th bell.
I stand before you as a student, who, like many of you, possess a profound admiration toward another person. This fondness grew a few years ago and I will always have a deep-rooted respect for this individual — my role model. It is with great honor that I have developed such close bond to a magnificent person. As the year draws to an end, I’d like to take the time to thank this individual.
To my role model: You are passionate and caring not just to me, but to everyone.
