Chief meteorologist to speak on hurricane readiness

Newscenter 25 chief meteorologist Bill Alexander will give a presentation to Cuero’s Club 65 on Thursday, Aug. 28 at Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, at 1310 E. Broadway in Cuero. The event is free and will begin at 11:45 a.m. Alexander’s presentation will focus on the topic of hurricane readiness and will be followed by a brief question and answer session.
Alexander joined Newscenter 25 as Chief Meteorologist in August 2009 after a 30 year career with the National Weather Service. While at the National Weather Service, Alexander served as a senior administrator, ran the national volcanic ash program, led the Hurricane Andrew disaster survey team, and ran the national severe local storms and flash flood programs. Additionally, Alexander received two Department of Commerce Bronze Medals for his superior performance related to severe weather warnings and the 2006 El Paso flash floods.
Club 65 is a monthly community education program provided for the area’s 65 and over population.
