Nancy Gayle Schroeder

 

Nancy Gayle Schroeder, 69 passed away on Feb. 25, 2013. 
She was born on Nov. 9, 1943 in Cuero to Murray and Clairece Carte. She loved to bake and sew and loved to share her cakes with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Emil Victor Schroeder; daughters, Traci Leigh Adkins (Dave) and Vicki Marie Williams; grandsons, David Andrew Seeley (Sara) and Jarret Reed Williams; sister, Charlotte Snyder (Bill).
Memorial service will begin at 1p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Portland, Texas.

Mary Alice Nichols, 64, of Cuero passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.
She was born Aug. 4, 1948 in Corpus Christi to the late Richard and Lilly Mae Nichols.
She is survived by her daughters, Natalie, Linda, and Tiffany Nichols; son, Richard Nichols; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Royceton Nichols.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at Freund Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 9, 1921 in Edinburg, to the late Abraham Jefferson and Mirantha Haley. She was a homemaker and a very talented seamstress.

Martha Frances Meyer

Martha Frances Meyer, 91, of Yorktown, died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013. She was born on Sunday, June 5, 1921, in the Gruenau Community near Yorktown to the late Herman and Anna Wild Buchhorn.

Martha was a seamstress and did sewing and alterations and worked at the Golden Thimble in Yorktown and also did babysitting.

Hestir R. Weikel

Hestir R. Weikel, 88, passed away on Feb. 4, 2013 in Cuero.

He was born Oct. 1, 1924 in Sweetwater to Peter Elo and Amalia Simek Weikel. He spent most of his life, from 1927 to 1996, in Corpus Christi. After his wife of 49 years, Vada B. Weikel, passed away in 1995, he moved to Cuero where he lived until his death.
