Record Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor, I am afraid I am the responsible party for the advertisement on May 1 that Dr. Orozco took to task in her (quite excellent) letter to the editor this past edition. Whereas I am hugely encouraged that people read ads (One is never sure), my attempt to be funny… playing off the “annoying mariachi” meme featured in many television shows and movies, was certainly never meant to be insulting to any group or culture or people.

of our region. It will determine our economic viability for decades to come. After 30 years in local law enforcement, I know both candidates very well. Only one of these men has proven to place the interests of the people he serves above his own. That person is Jeff Bauknight. Jeff will work to improve our economic outlook while protecting our rural way of life. Thanks to his working relationship with Governor Abbott and their shared interest in the future of Texas, we can be assured that the interests of HD 30 will be in good hands with Jeff Bauknight representing us in the Texas Legislature. Please join me in voting for Jeff Bauknight in the upcoming runoff election for HD 30.

Yorktown News-View GOD first...Heavenly Father, only You know all about our doubts and fears that work inside each and every person's head. The doubts that enter our minds are haunts of not knowing what will happen from hour to hour and when we dwell on it, it becomes too big for some to overcome and fear becomes greater. We need to put away our doubts and fears because the only thing that will change them is to rely on Your Amazing Grace. For Your love alone insures us that no matter what fears or doubts that confront us, You will always be there to comfort us. We only need to ask in Jesus name. Amen. Pray for those who are ill, grieving, suffering, or are in harm's way.
