This year, the Veterans Land Bureau's 10 Texas State Veterans Homes received approximately 37,997 Valentine's Day cards and letters through the Valentines for Vets program β setting a record for the largest card donation to date.
'As Chairwoman of the VLB, one of my most crucial responsibilities is caring for the men and women who selflessly served our nation,β said Commissioner Dawn Buckingham. βThe VLB's Valentines for Vets program harnesses the power of community to remind our Veterans that they are appreciated and loved through thousands of Valentine's cards and letters each year. Since the program began in 2021, VLB's Texas State Veterans Homes have received over 60,000 Valentine's cards and letters from Texans and people across the country. This year, our Veterans Homes received nearly 38,000 cards, the program's largest card donation and more than double last year's count! I encourage all Texans to show gratitude for our phenomenal Veterans and their sacrifices each Valentine's Day and year-round.'
