Walk to State Light Parade

Parents hold up giant photos of their player daughters

Gobbler fans showed up to cheer on their Lady Gobblers on the eve of their first-ever state championship game with a special lighted parade on Thursday, February 27.

Accompanied by the Cuero High School Band and drill squad, the team walked down East Main Street holding lighted wands with fans lining the street.

Mayor Emil Garza congratulated Coach Amy Crain and the team on their winning record and teamwork, getting all the way to state. He urged the players to take in the specialness of the moment and their championship memories. Garza said the town supported them 100% and would show up for them at the San Antonio Alamodome the next day.

Along with the cheerleader and band celebrations, the Lady Gobblers cheered each other on singing their own pep song with players and coaches taking turns in their circle.

After the rally, the Lady Gobblers were treated to a custom-made Lady Gobbler Golden Oreo ice cream at The Green Cow.
