GOD first...Heavenly Father, sometimes we think we ask in vain about our problems and ask for things we may not expect to be granted. Yet, we still try. Lord, give us hope and strength to reach out and help us to not give up. We ask in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Pray for those who are ill, suffering, grieving, or are in harm's way.
Explorer: 'Gee. I'd love to go swimming in that lagoon. Are you certain there's no crocodiles in there?'
Native guide: 'Yes, I'm sure. The sharks scared them all away.'
John: Did you have a good hunting trip?
Jim: Yeahl I shot seventeen geese.
John: Were they wild?
Jim: No. But you should have seen the lady that owned them!
The newly almost finished stretch of Highway 72 from the western part of DEWITT County line through Nordheim and Yorktown has been extra active with all kinds of equipment that is laying down hot asphalt as truck after truck hauls in the material. It's amazing how good weather will cause so much work to get done. All the entrances to the highway from city and county roads still need to be paved at the approaches.
Don't forget to set your clocks ahead this next Sunday, March 9th @ 2a.m. That is if Pres. Trump doesn't change it. A couple of states do not change and they are Hawaii and Arizona (except the Navajo Nation which is exempt). If clocks are not set ahead, a lot of people who attend church will arrive at church after it is over.
This next Sunday, March 9th, the Nordheim Volunteer Fire Department will have its fund and membership drive starting at 11am with a BBQ meal. Meal tickets will need to be purchased before March 4th. Our Kaffe Klatch group had 8 of its faithful come this past Thursday and three of them brought tasty goodies and cake that was devoured along with good hot coffee. The talk about eggs led to chickens, then to chicken snakes, varments, tearing down hay barn, skunks, castorating hogs, dogs, or cats, school field trips in the 50's, people who purchased land, who did what, who said this, who said that, who went to the doctor, and what did the google say. I know I missed a lot but when asked a question, all I could do was shrug my shoulders because I couldn't hear, couldn't talk with a mouth full or unable to read lips enough to make any sense of...what was the question? There was a lot of laughing while I only smiled still wondering...what was the question?
See you next week.
