On February, 28, the Yorktown Kitty and Wildcat JV and Varsity track teams opened up their track season at the Karnes City Invitational, with the Kitty Kats winning the Varsity Girls Division. Other schools participating in the meet were Charlotte, Hondo, Karnes City, Kenedy, Nixon-Smiley, Pawnee, Poteet, and Prairie Lea.

The Kitty Kats scored 172 points to win the Varsity Girls Division, Hondo was nearest with 115 points.
