“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, not sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 NKJV As many of us today, Jim Hill could not understand why his mother- in-law had gotten very ill. She was a godly woman and a good person. This was in the early 1950’s and Hill was a new Christian.

Having a tremendous tenor voice and a background in music, Hill was given insight to a new song, “What a day that will be!” God laid on his heart the verse from Revelation and from that verse he penned his song.

With all the unrest that is happening in the world today, Christians are having a hard time understanding why God is allowing this to happen. The pain and misery that is being created by people who do not care about others, their businesses, their homes, and their lives, are getting so much media attention that many others, Christian and non-Christian, are joining their ranks.

Why is this? Why is God allowing us to go through these times of uncertainty? Why does God call home good, honest, God fearing people or allow terrible things to happen in the world today?

We may not know His plans for us and why He allows these things to happen, but we need to realize this is His world and He is in charge. He allows Satan to run rampant on this earth and it seems that we have become susceptible to what the world is teaching us. For those of us that knows Jesus personally understand that the prince of the air is from Satan and we are protected from him through prayer and God’s Word.

Jim Hill did not understand, as many of us today with our friends and family, why his mother-in-law became gravely ill. However, he did understand who was in charge and God gave him wisdom to write his song. Just as his mother-in-law has gone on to be with the Lord, all the unrest and destruction we are experiencing in the world today will also pass.

I am printing the first verse of the song that the Lord laid on his heart: “There is coming a day, when no heart aches shall come, No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye, All is peace forever more, on the happy golden shore, What a day, glorious day that will be. What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see, And I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace; When He takes me by the hand, and leads me through the Promised Land, What a day, glorious day that will be.

We all lose loved ones, and it is hard to give them up. We also do not understand some of the atrocities that are happening, but we need to remember there will be a day when all our troubles and misunderstandings will be gone.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for your love.Thankyoufromtheonesthatknow you personally that we will one day join you in your heavenly home. Amen.
