For many years, the Cuero Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Miss Cuero Court. But in 2023, in order to focus on Cuero’s growth, they ceased their sponsorship, turning it over to the Miss Golden Crescent organization to manage.
In last week’s story on the Miss Cuero pageant, it was reported that there was no sponsorship for this year’s event. However, Jason Burmeister, of Victoria, who manages the Miss Golden Crescent pageant and who produced the 2024 Miss Cuero Pageant, indicated his interest in continuing to operate the event.
'My daughter, Jamara, registered as the sole owner with the district clerk,' Burmeister said.
On April 30, 2024, Jamara Burmeister filed a DBA with the DeWitt County Clerk to do business as “Miss Cuero Pageant.” Jason has managed the Miss Golden Crescent pageant for six years.
“We plan to have the pageant in August,” Burmeister said. “We are forming a board.”
He said two members of the board will be from DeWitt County and one from Victoria.
