God first...Heavenly Father, there are times when our faith is weak and troubled. We are confused and unable to reach out with proper words as we wander aimlessly. We ask for strength and direction while all the time we know that we need to rely on Your Amazing Grace. We know Your Son suffered so we may be saved. Help us, as He reveals his last days, to understand the true meaning of Lent. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Pray for those who are grieving, ill, suffering, or are in harm's way.
*A baby boy was in a crib next to another baby.
The baby boy asked to other baby, 'Are you a boy or a girl?'
The other baby chuckled and said, 'I don't know.'
Baby boy said, 'I know a way to find out.'
Baby said, 'How?' Baby boy said, 'I'll crawl over this crib into your crib and crawl under your cover and look.'
Baby said, 'Okay.' So, he did just that. After awhile, he came back up.
Baby said, 'Well?'
Baby Boy said, 'You're a girl.'
Baby said, 'How do you know?'
He said, 'Because you have on pink socks and I have blue socks.
The Nordheim Shooting Club Hall's Annual May Feast is fast approaching. This is our biggest fundraiser for one of the oldest Dance Halls in Texas and we are asking for your support. The proceeds of this event will be used to help defray the cost of repairs and maintenance needed to preserve the beauty of our buildings and to keep the recreational building available for everyone in our community.
The three-day celebration has been a major event for our community for many years. Friday and Saturday, May 16th-17th, consist of the 'Hot Rod Pullers' along with a Gas and Diesel Work Stock Pickup Class and a Farm Stock Tractor Class Pull, plus a Chili/Barbeque Cookoff, Arts/ Craft booths, and a free dance on Saturday night with music by The Nathan Colt Young Band. Food and drinks are available. Then on Sunday afternoon, the 18th, we will have another free dance with music by New Braunfels Village Brass Band and a delicious evening barbecue meal that you won't want to miss - the best barbeque in South Texas!!! Plus all weekend the St. Paul Lutheran Church Youth League will be selling their delicious homemade Ice Cream. I know it's two months away but keep these dates in mind.
At KKcoffee this week we had twelve people come and enjoyed camaraderie and stories all while eating delicious goodies brought by Myrtle. Some stated that they will now not know the places Larry is because he quit driving his yellow auto. He bought one of a different color. Only two autos now that are yellow, are the ones Snooky and Pastor Jan are now driving. He can now hide in plain sight. Everywhere he went, somebody knew where he was, knew what he was doing, and what he was driving. Poor man had to explain almost all his details of what, why, when, and etc. to those who couldn't mind their own business. Cathy complained she didn't know any names of the Astros Baseball players but still remains a devoted fan. Watching a baseball game is like watching paint dry. Jan told some interesting stories she shared with us. Dennis's memory is still intact. Coffee is still black.
Next Wednesday is Young At Heart at the Parish Hall in Nordheim. Don't miss it. See you next week.
