The Yorktown Wildcat and Kitty Kat high school track teams competed on March 6th, 2025, in the Jack Adcock Relays in Cuero. Other teams competing were: Cuero, Edna, El Campo, Floresville, Gonzales, Hallettsville, Port Lavaca Calhoun, Shiner St. Paul, Victoria East, Victoria Gators, Victoria St. Joseph, Victoria West, Wimberly and Yoakum.
With much larger schools in attendance, medals were hard to come by for Yorktown. Yet, the Wildcats and Kitty Kats held their own and many athletes set personal records at the meet. Here are the medalists from the meet: Varsity Girls: Trinity Flores - 4x400m Relay (4th); Palyn Koopmann - 300m Hurdles (2nd), 100m Hurdles (4th), 4x400m Relay (4th), Pole Vault (4th); Avery Martin - 100m Hurdles (3rd); Claire Person 4x400m Relay (4th), Triple Jump (6th): Hayle Russell - Pole Vault (1st), 4x400m Relay (4th). Varsity Boys: Ryan Knostman - Shot Put (2nd), Discus (3rd); Randen Zuniga - High Jump (6th). JV Girls: Paige Deleon - Triple Jump (5th). JV Boys - Caden Mika - Shot Put (3rd); Matthew Patton - Discus (6th); Kylan Respondek - 300m Hurdles (5th).
Yorktown’s next meet will be on Friday, March 14, 2025, as they will host over ten teams in the Yorktown Relays.
