The Yorktown golf teams had a remarkable performance at their home tournament held at the Yorktown Country Club on March 11 and 12. The girls team clinched first place on Monday, followed by the boys team securing the top spot the next day.
The Kitty Kat team, composed of Lila Buch, Sydnie Krueger, Braleigh Dodds, McKinley Rogers, and Ashlie Gaida delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with a total score of 433. Buch emerged as the standout, placing second overall with a score of 105. Rogers had a strong performance, claiming bronze with her 106 round. Teammate Krueger shot 108, while Gaida and Dodds each recorded 114.
The boys team mirrored the success of their female counterparts, taking home first place on Tuesday. Not only was the team first place overall with their total score of 317 but they had multiple individuals medal. Cameron Willis placed first, recording an impressive low round of 75 while Conner Saunders round of 80 snagged silver. Brody Metting and Kolton Eckhardt tied for third, both shooting 81. After a two hole playoff Metting was awarded bronze.
