Dear Editor,
Nancy Porter Blackwell's letter to the Cuero Record (March 19th, 2025) was thoughtfully written. She called attention to the poorly planned new entrance to the Cuero Regional Hospital. I, too, was a victim on a cold windy day. I told my family member to just let me out at the door. There was no sign to say it was no longer open. I frantically tried the other doors, but they were locked with no one in sight. Since I was short of breath, I began to panic and screamed, 'Help me.'
A nice gentleman in a truck rescued me and drove me around to the back. By that time I needed a wheelchair. I was so short of breath. Dr. Lemly was nearby and assisted me. Whose idea was this change? Another concern is the recent release of a popular doctor. This has been a jolt to the whole system. Now it's very difficult to get an appointment with a doctor because there is a shortage of doctors. Hopefully, when the Cuero Regional Hospital Board is up for election, we will remember this poor planning which affects so many.
