The county tax appraisal roll, tax rate and budget will be addressed at a special Commissioners Court meeting on Wednesday, July 31, at 9 a.m. According to County Judge Daryl Fowler the growth in the tax base suggests a reduction in the tax rate.
“Roughly speaking, our tax base has increased by $1 billion,” Fowler said. “I will attempt to describe which categories of real property and mineral values/ industrial properties have changed when we meet on Wednesday.”
Also on the agenda for the special meeting is the scheduling of a public hearing on the 2025 budget.
