GOD first...Heavenly Father, as we get older, we appreciate each and every blessing we receive. We only ask for strength in faith and gratitude in guiding others near us in the celebration of the victory over death for our sins. We give grateful thanks in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Pray for those who are ill, suffering, grieving or are in harm's way.
**Things to think about: Girl Horse: You're a terrible dancer!
Boy Horse: I'm not surprised. After all, I do have two left feet.
...... 'What's your cat's name?'
'Ben Hur.' 'Why did you name it that?'
'Well, we called it Ben until it had kittens.'
Nordheim's Annual Easter Egg Hunt was held this past Saturday with all the young kids enjoying hunting Easter Eggs carefully placed for them in obvious places. I didn't find any reason to report it because most of those children aren't old enough to read anyway.
Did you forget to bring your umbrella to Sunday Morning Sun Rise Services? Ye of little faith! You prayed for rain and you weren't prepared. So?
Drove around the country side and saw corn about waist high as it was planted on George Washington's birthday. Many are anticipating some early roasting ears to munch on, with melted butter, a little salt, and strong false teeth. Heard one person say it like that. So true.
It was reported that the State Highway Patrol has been catching speeders that ignored our speed limits around town. I guess they thought the State Troopers were still in the Valley catching illegals.
Saw a sign on a Honda Civic this past week while driving in heavy traffic in Victoria. I noticed other drivers laughing and pointing at it. It said, 'My driving scares me too.'
Monday, last week, after doing my exercise at the Wellness Center, I stopped by my old friend, Judge Ben Prause for the fifth time and bang on his door, waited for a response, and then banged again. So I banged again as loud as I could with cars passing by and still nothing. I walked down the ramp to the sidewalk and heard him when he opened his door, finally. It's the first chance we had to renew all the bygone days and the many memories we shared while at Dewitt County Commissioners Court. He's looking good and feeling good, or so he says, and reads my article in the Cuero Record. Gave me his phone number and asked me to come back but call before I do. Didn't want me knocking down his door. It might fall off the hinges if I bang too much. I asked him to join me at exercise but he's afraid he might get better and fall and hurt himself or something like that. Always with the excuses....
I still haven't seen Pat Kennedy. When I ask anyone if they've seen him, they ask, who?
Nine of us were at Kaffee Klatch this Thursday with plenty to eat and lots of hot coffee to drink while discussing almost forgotten days along with aches and pains, forecast of rain this next weekend, leaky windshield on Caths' car, radio active deposits, and scary things like Booger Bears. Asked Cathy if she ever saw one? She told of ones that were hiding behind closed doors to rooms that little kids weren't supposed to go into. Little kids would grab their mothers skirts and cry when they heard booger bears were watching or were in the next room. Even grandmothers would use the term. Sure would have a certain effect. You never know what you might hear at our Koffee Klatches. Sometimes it is informing, entertaining, or downright stretching of the truth. So help me... See you next week.
