The Yorktown Livestock Show Board of Directors held its annual public meeting on April 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Yorktown Agricultural Building. During the meeting, Michael Gwosdz and Joseph Respondek were reelected to the board.
President Person expressed gratitude to the YISD staff and students for their contributions to the success of the show, noting that more than 30 students participated.
“This board witnessed the passion and dedication that several YISD students demonstrated this school year, and we were very impressed,” Person said.
He also praised the two new agricultural teachers for their hard work, despite not having mentors.
“I see a community and a school district committed to developing agricultural skills in our youth. These skills include animal husbandry and mechanical skills that support our deep agricultural roots and industries,” he concluded.
