Cuero High School students are making waves in the art world, thanks in part to support from the Cuero ISD Education Foundation. At the Foundation’s recent board meeting, Cuero High School Art Teacher Heather Stewart shared the powerful impact of her awarded grant, “Refresh, Renew, Revitalize,” and proudly showcased her students’ award-winning artwork.
Three CHS art students who recently earned prestigious honors at the Houston Livestock Show were present at the meeting, along with additional artwork created using supplies made possible by the Foundation’s grant program. Mrs. Stewart expressed sincere gratitude to the Foundation for helping her transition from Cuero Junior High to the High School by providing the materials needed to set her students up for success.
“Without this grant, my students wouldn’t have had the supplies and materials necessary to create the incredible works that have brought them recognition,” Stewart shared. “It has also encouraged them to continue pursuing their talents, dreams, and goals.”
The Foundation’s Educator Grant Program empowers teachers like Mrs. Stewart to bring innovative, hands-on experiences to students by funding creative classroom projects. Over the last two school years, the Cuero ISD Education Foundation has awarded more than $156,000 in classroom grants, helping bring ideas to life in art, STEM, culinary arts, literacy, music, wellness, and more.
From 3D modeling in engineering to virtual field trips, specialized dyslexia training, sensory rooms, and the ongoing “Back-To-School” and “Lend a Helping Hand” programs, the Foundation continues to invest in projects that build engagement, encourage exploration, and support student success.
