Keep Cuero Beautiful sponsored an Earth Day Coloring Contest for students in pre-K, kindergarten, first grade, and 2nd through 5th grades. The contest received sixty entries.
Since 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated nationally to emphasize the importance of renewable energy in reducing greenhouse emissions, which help reduce health risks and air pollution as well as caring for the environment to the benefit of all.
KCB members Emily Davis and Katelynn Meitzen, co-chairs, expressed appreciation to all students and teachers who participated in this event. Winners receive local restaurant gift cards and 1st place winners receive an Earth Day T-shirt; the Best of Show winner receives a custom T-shirt of his/her color page.
Winners in Pre-K category are 1st—Austyn Slone, Pre-K4; 2nd—Halle Zimmerman, Pre-K 4; 3rd—Sebastian Rosillo, Pre-K3; Honorable Mention— Cora Zimmerman, Pre-K4.
Winners in Kindergarten— 1st grade category are 1st—Wyatt Salas, 1st grade; 2nd—Olih Bialek, Kindergarten; 3rd August Stafford, Kindergarten; HM—Abigail Goebel, 1st grade and Alice Adams, Kindergarten.
Winners in 2nd--5th grade category are 1st— Layla Malagor, 2nd grade; 2nd—Emily Bialek, 5th grade; 3rd— Heidi Adams, 3rd grade; HM—Brimleigh Koerth, 4th grade.
BEST OF SHOW: Cooper Clinton, 5th grade.
