Founded in 1985 by a dedicated group of local nurses, doctors, and volunteers, Hospice of South Texas has grown into a leading provider of end-oflife care in 12 counties. With offices in Victoria and Hallettsville and the Dornburg Center of Compassion—the area’s only inpatient hospice facility—the organization remains deeply rooted in the community it serves.

Hospice of South Texas holds a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and has been voted “Best of the Best” Hospice in Victoria for multiple years. It is also a proud member of the Texas Non-Profit Hospice Alliance, a statewide coalition advocating for high-quality, mission- driven care.
