Doris Catherine Blackwell entered into rest at the age of 93 on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. She was born on July 2, 1931 in Cuero, TX to the late Alvin and Alma Smith Rucker.
Doris is survived by her son Alois Sterling Blackwell, her daughter Jacqueline V. Luter, her sister Bessie Mae Buckner, her grandchildren Shanell Hopkins (Christopher), Evan Blackwell, and Jordyn Luter Jones; and her great grandchildren Jaryn Jarmon, Javaree Bacon, Jasiah Bacon, Beckham Blackwell, and Dawson Blackwell.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband Sterling Blackwell, her daughter Frances Lanell Blackwell and grandson Aaryn Sterling Blackwell, as well as 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
