Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott honored Cuero’s Main Street Program alongside those from Amarillo, Denison, San Marcos, and Texarkana. Sandra T. Osman, the director of the Main Street Program, was present to receive the recognition on April 23rd at the Texas Supreme Courtroom in the Texas Capitol.
“I am exceptionally proud, on behalf of the Downtown Cuero Main Street program, to be recognized by the First Lady of Texas for our role on the Texas Historical Commission Leadership Council. What an honor to represent this great program, enacted in 1980. Historic preservation and economic development of downtown districts is the goal, and currently, there are 80 cities in the state of Texas leading those goals. Thank you to all the hard-working THC staff and Main Street managers. What an amazing group to be a part of in making such a difference for our great State, and thank you to Cuero city government for supporting this endeavor,” Osman said.
