Is your life a life of contentment? If someone came to you and ask, “Are you a contented person?” What would you say? There are many people in this world today that would say, I have everything that I ever wanted.” There are also many people in this world today that would say, “The Lord has given me everything that I have ever needed.” Does this mean that the Lord has provided everything that I desired or just allowed me to have what I need to get by? The Apostle Paul, when writing to the Philippians, stated in 4:12; “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” How many of us in this modern-day world can say, “Thank you Lord for what you have provided and allowed me to have.” How many of us are content in our situations whether they be bad or good? How many of us praise the Lord God in our time of fulfillment and in our time of despair? So many of us go through this world today saying, “I wish I could or wish I had…?” It seems that most of us look at what we don’t have instead of being thankful and appreciative of what we do have.
