Open Pro Rodeo
The Cuero Livestock Show Board is bringing a Lester Meier Open Pro Rodeo to Cuero for the fifteenth year on August 9th and 10th. The rodeo will be held at the Cuero Rodeo Arena and will start each night at 8 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the gate. Adult tickets will be $15, kids 7-12 will be $5 and kids under 6 will be free. CASA Q&A
Golden Crescent CASA helps children in foster care navigate their way through and is also their voice in the courts. Volunteers are needed for the children of DeWitt County who are in foster care. If you want to learn more about it, please join us for an informational meeting on Aug. 19, 4-5 p.m at the Cuero Municipal Library.
Substitute, Cafeteria and Bus Driver Training
The Cuero ISD will hold its substitute training on Tuesday, August 20 at 9 a.m. in the Cuero ISD Administration Office located at 960 East Broadway, Cuero. This training is a state required and will provide individuals wishing to work in the classroom, cafeteria, or driving a bus with information necessary for success. All substitutes must attend this training. New applicants need to bring a copy of their social security card, driver’s license, and transcript or diploma to the training as well. Applicants that have not completed an application with Cuero ISD, need to go to www.cueroisd.org.

Annual Wildlife Management Meeting
Western DeWitt Wildlife Management Association will hold its annual meeting at The Nordheim Shooting Club on Aug 24. Registration 11 a.m., meal at noon. Big buck contest registration along with registration for management tags and a photo contest. Lease license information needs to be sent to Spence PRIOR to AUG 24.

A Day in The Country
On Saturday, Sept. 14, Weesatche 4 Warriors is honoring active duty military, veterans, wounded warriors, first responders and families in memory of lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. The event starts with a 10 a.m. opening ceremony and continues with a chuck wagon lunch, family fun activities and live entertainment until 2 p.m. at the Weesatche Community Center, 161 E. FM 884, in Goliad.
Murder at the Masquerade
A masquerade murder mystery dinner event to benefit the Friends of DeWitt County Children will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. at The Venue on Church Street in Cuero. Ticketing information to follow.
Turner Hall Bingo
Turner hall will host Bingo every Thursday at 7:30p.m.

Preschool Tours
Grace Episcopal School is the newest preschool in Cuero opening in August 2024. Personal tours are being offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 1-4:00 pm. Grace Episcopal School is a ministry of Grace Episcopal Church. Cuero VFW Post 3972 has resumed weekly games of Bingo at the Post Home.

1984 & 1985 Class Reunion
Calling all Class of 1984 and 1985 Cuero High School Gobblers. The 39th and 40th Reunion is Oct 11, 2024 and Oct 12, 2024. Cost is $60 per person but includes both night's festivities. Friday night mixer and Saturday night social hour, banquet and dance at Cuero Country Club.

Child Find Evaluations
School districts must ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided for children who are identified as needing special education and related services.
Child Find is a process to identify, locate, and evaluate individuals from birth to 21 years of age who may need special education and related services. Evaluations for Cuero, Meyersville, Nursery and Westhoff ISD’s are available through Child Find. Early childhood intervention programs serve children with developmental delays and their families. Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals in the central DeWitt County area for Meals on Wheels South Texas. Meals are delivered once a week on Wednesdays from about 11 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in volunteering you can go to mowstx.org or email volunteer@ mowstx.org.
