GOD first...Heavenly Father Provider of all things, You have given us all we need and more at times. Yet, we seem to never be satisfied and always wanting more. Still, there are those who are less fortunate or are stricken with unfortunate burdens. Help us to recognize the need and share with them, simply and graciously, what You have first given us. We ask in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Pray for those who are ill, suffering, grieving, or are in harm's way.

***I know you have been lying awake at night wondering why baby diapers have brand names such as 'Loves, Huggies, and Pampers,' while under garments for old people are called 'Depends.'

Well, here is the lowdown on the whole thing.'

When babies poop in their pants, people are still going to love'um, hug'em, and pamper them.

When old people poop in their pants, It 'Depends' who's in the will!

Glad to straighten that out so you can sleep better at night.

The Vance Frosch Scholarship Fund Raiser was a giant success this past week with four $1,000 scholarships that will be given to four outstanding Nordheim High School Seniors at graduation ceremonies this week. The unsold dinners that were left over went to the Yorktown Fire Station for meals for Seniors the next day. Our community outdid themselves this time. Thank You.

Hope everyone enjoyed the Nordheim May Fest and Tractor Pull. It seems to get bigger and better each year. Some people were praying for rain and some were praying for good weather. Even though the weather was hot and dry, everything turned out GREAT.

At Kaffee Klatch, Dennis has new transportation (he doesn't have to ride here on a two wheel trailer anymore) Cow prices are better, bees are not as plentiful anymore, Kathy is enjoying retirement, seems like there are a lot of 89-year old birthdays lately, and time marches on.

Part two: When arriving at the barn with the first load of baled hay, I was first given a tour of the big two story barn that had both ends extended and pointed gables with wooden pulleys to haul up loose hay in past years before square hay bales. Both ends of the barn had openings big enough to drive through. I was told that the barn was built in the early 1880's. All the oak flooring, rafters and walls were constructed without nails. All were put together with wooden pegs. The rats had rounded the 8X8 rafters where many generations had transversed up and down. The floors were shiny and worn from many bales of hay sliding over them. As I wondered at all this, I was reminded that we came here to work and not look around. This old lady was all business.

As I had been invited to come to breakfast the next morning, I arrived behind a school bus that parked next to several cars and pickups. A lady was last to exit the bus and she told me to follow her and her children. I introduced myself and she said, 'Oh, you're the one my mother said is going to be our special guest.' That surprised me and I wondered what that old lady had done.

As I walked in, I smelled home cooking, and an atmosphere of love and acceptance as if I was one of them. Everybody was busy, filling the long oak table that had folding benches that unfolded from under the table on both sides with food and plates without decorations. I noticed how large the inside of the house was. In the middle of all of it, there was a huge rock fireplace with an opening big enough to walk through. One side opened to the kitchen and the other into the living room with pots and pans over a coals of bright flames in the middle. A country boy like me had never seen anything like this before and as I marveled at all this, somebody loudly banged on a pot and each of the 20 or so found their place at the table. I was placed at the head of the table beside the little old lady as she took off her apron, sat, and everybody bowed their heads while she offered a sweet prayer to our Lord. See you next week with part 3.
