2025 DeWitt County Crops Tour coming up June 10

The DeWitt County Crops Committee will be hosting their annual Crops Tour on Tuesday, June 10. The program will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Nordheim Hall, located at 101 W. Ninth St. in Nordheim, TX. Registration will be between 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

The DeWitt County Crops Committee will be hosting their annual Crops Tour on Tuesday, June 10. The program will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Nordheim Hall, located at 101 W. Ninth St. in Nordheim, TX. Registration will be between 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Guest speakers include Dr. Josh Mc-Ginty, AgriLife Extension Agronomist; Sergeant Ruben San Miguel, Texas Department of Public Safety; and Justin Hale, Director of Operations, Ignition Land Services.

Before the Tour leaves the hall, there will be a program on “Ag Equipment and Chemical Transportation Laws & Regulations.” Tour stops include Cotton Variety Text Plot at the Joseph Respondek Farm; Drone Brush Spraying Demonstration at the Neal Byerly Farm; and Corn Hybrid Test Plot at the Fred and Chad Hahn Farm. The Tour will proceed back to the Nordheim Hall where the day will conclude with a program on “Using Drones for Weed & Brush Control.”

The Row Crops Tour is sponsored by Texas AgriLife Extension Service of DeWitt County, DeWitt County Crops Committee, and Yorktown Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture. Crops Committee members are Carroll Blank, Ben Hahn, Michael Chumchal, Carl Blank, Joseph Respondek, and Chad Hahn.
