Former Pastor back for graduation, Koffee Klatch

GOD first...Heavenly Father, while going from place to place and meeting new people, help us to remember that others are meeting us for the first time too. As we try to remember faces, names, and greet them, our first impressions, as well as theirs, are filled with new interest in each other. Lord, help us to think about how meeting with our Savior will be like when we first meet with our Spirits as we are joined in heaven. Help us to pray in ernest for the Redeemer to be with us as we pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Pray for those who are ill, grieving, suffering, or are in harm's way.

**A man was sitting beside the river fishing without any bait on his hook. A passerby inquired, 'Why don't you put some bait on your hook?'

'I never use any bait, stranger. You see, I'm fishing for mamasopies.' 'Mamasopies? What do mamasopies look like?'

'I don't know. I've never caught any.'

Thank You Lord for the bountiful rain!

Now that the successful Nordheim May Feast and Tractor Pull is over, one might say that there isn't anything to do in Nordheim. The Graduating Senior Class of 2025 was well attended by friends and relatives as nine seniors walked across the stage at Commencement Exercises last Thursday, May 22. The speaker, who gave a stirring speech for the future of the nine seniors, was our past Pastor, Jonathan Mollenkopf. He is now pastor in Fredericksburg and is well known to all the seniors as he taught them in one of their classes while subbing here in Nordheim.

Then on Friday 23, Jonathan hosted a Koffee Klatch at Aunt Di's, for those who were regular coffee drinkers while he was a pastor in Nordheim. At the time they met, I was in the Austin International Airport in Austin getting ready to fly to San Francisco to visit my cousin Carol Pohl. Because she came to Texas to celebrate my 90th birthday, we made a deal to go to her birthday in May in San Francisco, California. I'm sure there was a lot of talk about me as I was not there to drink coffee with the so-called bunch. Good or bad, they reported that everyone had a good time remembering all of the good times while Jonathan was at most of our gatherings in Nordheim.

Part 3 of the Lady Hay Hauler: At the breakfast table, before anyone took a bite of food, she introduced me as a fellow Texan and one of the witnesses who remembered hearing of the event of the woman who jumped to her death inside the Capitol Dome, splattering on the big star in the middle of the floor. The whole family cheered when she announced that she finally found somebody to back up her story that she told each time anyone would listen.

There was so much food for a breakfast. All we ever had back at the base was SOS toast, eggs, bacon, and juice. Seeing all the food on their table, I was taken aback by so much just for breakfast. The little old lady explained that her boys, 5 of them, 1 of them killed in WWII, all four worked at a paper mill and would take sandwiches and items from breakfast to work the whole day and come back home and finish the farming chores. Always had a light meal for supper.

Every time I see an old lady with hard working wrinkles on her face, I'm reminded of that little old lady who just happened to need someone to help her haul hay. See you next week when I will be giving a report on my experiences of the visit to S.F. as an old man.
