Struggling? Cast your burdens upon the Lord.

We are told by the Psalmist in Psalm 55:22, “Cast your burdens on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (NKJV) Every day we are going to be tempted. Every day we are going to have something that bothers us. Every day we are going to see others hurting, even though we might not know it. Each day brings on new situations that we are going to encounter and we, as Christians, are the only ones that can cast these earthly burdens upon the Lord.

The Psalmist promises that the Lord will uphold the believer in the struggles of life.

Many times, during my life I have relied on the Lord to carry me through many problems and many good times. I have seen and talked to many people who have cast their burdens on the Lord and come away with a much better outlook on life. Most of the time that we have situations in our life is because we try so hard to handle them ourselves. When we do this without consulting the Lord, we often find ourselves drifting further away from God and following the voice of the world. When we do this, we find ourselves struggling with self-pity, no clear directions for us to see, and nothing to lean on except what the world wants us to know.

Everyone has been there. I have been there many, many times. I have seen and talked with friends and others about their life struggles and nothing is new that I have heard from them. The world will tell you what they want you to know and lead you, many times, in a direction that it is totally opposite of what the Lord wants you to do.

Many of us feel that we cannot talk to the Lord because of the life we are living. Even the ones that know Him personally feel that they can drift so far away from Jesus that He will not listen to their problems and concerns.

This is not true. God loves you and even though we feel He has left us, He has not. It is us that have drifted into the ways of the world and let ourselves be drawn away from Him. We may think that God does not want to hear from us because we are so sin laden and casting our cares toward what the world is leading us to do. Jesus is never too busy to listen to you and speak to you. He is always ready for us to talk with Him because He is so magnificent, omnipresent, omni powerful, that our problems are ridiculously small to Him. He loves all His children, even though some of us have strayed into different directions.

God does not struggle as we do. Even though we think our burden is almost too much to bear for us, Jesus carries the whole world on His shoulders. His mighty arms can carry any burden any of us cast upon Him. The Lord can sanctify you and heal you. All we must do is have faith in Him even though we feel that He does not want to talk to us. We serve a big and awesome God and when you feel like you have no one to talk to or no one to listen, look up, because you have a God who loves you more than anything. Always remember that nothing can drive you any lower than you knees when you are struggling.

Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus for the opportunity to seek your face any time, any day, at any moment. Thank you for guiding me and directing me on a path that you want me to go. Amen.
