Thursday May 29thth was a Cloudy day in Cuero. But for most of us we had no opportunity to visit with US Congressman Michael Cloud. The Cuero Record reported that he had a busy day with Cuero elected officials, leaders from the Chamber, leaders from the Cuero Hospital, the Rotary Club and the Republican Party.
US Congress Representatives and Senators are elected by the people and not simply leaders or Republicans. Cloud has constituents in Cuero who would have loved to have spoken with him. Perhaps a veteran had a concern.
The Republican Party was informed of his visit, but others were not. They even held an RSVP event for him at the Country Club. Perhaps an open invitation for all at Dairy Queen would have reached more Cuero residents instead of this exclusive event.
We suggest next time a US Representative or US Senator is in town that the elected official announce his/her visit to the public. Apparently Cloud had enough time to get an ice cream cone and that cheesecake could have been to go.
