Dear Editor, I read with interest the Letter to the Editor signed by the DeWitt/ Lavaca Democratic Women. Since I am a Lavaca County Republican Woman, I wish to address their concerns regarding the visit on May 29 by Congressman Cloud.
The ladies voiced dissatisfaction that Congressman Cloud met with: Cuero elected offi cials, Chamber Leaders, Cuero Hospital Leaders, Rotary Club members, and the Republican Party.
Congressman Cloud’s date of visit to the area of May 29 was well publicized by Social Media, news outlets, word of mouth, and announcements by web sites and different organizations, including voters. The Republican County Party public event required people to RSVP to allow them to have enough appetizers and drinks, but it was not necessary for attendance. Many of the public came to hear and question the Congressman who were not members of the party and perhaps not from Cuero, but just area towns.
