Newcomer interferes with goats who don’t eat grass
GOD first...Heavenly Father, as we pray for the needs of people we know who are near and dear. Help us to realize there are many others that are just as needful for Thy comfort and healing powers. As we make decisions each day, who and what to pray for, strengthen our faith, our hearts, and resolve in knowing that You are always with us no matter what we ask. In the name of our dear savior, Jesus, we ask in His name. Amen. Thank You for the rain too.
Pray for those who are ill, suffering, grieving, or are in harm's way.
A rich old man visits his doctor for a little blue pill. The doctor gives him a sample pill to try out. He tells him to take the pill now, and by the time he gets home it should be working. That should be one of the happiest evenings for you and your wife.
Twenty minutes later the man calls the doctor and tells him his wife isn't home but the maid is the only one there.
'Well, try it on the maid.'
'We never needed it for us!'
In the town of Nordheim, you can now see a lot of Crepe Myrtles blooming all over with so many colors just about anywhere. One in particular, is the one in back of John & Lori Green's back property that is big and completely white. There is some purple, some lavender, and even some red. When I looked it up on the computer, I didn't realize there were so many different colors available. Around here, there are some who attribute it to all the rain we have been getting. Could be, could be.
There's a newcomer in our back lot. His name is Jake; half jackass and half horse which makes him a mule through no fault of his own. He's nice and gentle too. Now when I feed my goats, he thinks the food is only for him, and now I've got to sneak food (corn & pellets) so the goats get something to eat. They don't eat grass much except when there is nothing else to eat. They are nice and fat too.
Figs are starting to ripen too.
We had 10 people at Kaffee Klatch this morning. Larry was absent due to his trip to Utah to see his aunt who's 94 years old. We pray that his trip is rewarding and that his visit finds her in good health and pray for his safe return. Conversations, this morning, were interesting as memories of people were remembered who once lived in and around Nordheim through the years. It's nice when old people still have good memories. Myrtle still has a darn good memory.
I got to the Rec. Center in Cuero this past Wednesday at around 6:30 a.m. and did my workouts on 10 different machines until 7:45. Went out to my vehicle and brought in my set of swimming trunks and bag, went to the men's room and changed. The pool always opens at 7:30 and I took my bag and thought I'd get into the pool early and have my workout done by the time the women start coming in at 8 a.m. The door was still locked so I went back into the men's locker room and waited 15 minutes. Came back out and the attendant was there but she didn't unlock the door.
'Aren't you going to open the door?' I asked. And she pointed to the sign on the door, 'Pool Closed.'
I was dressed to go into the pool, not to read signs! Old people sometimes get into a rut and don't think, so I left. I felt a little relieved that I didn't have to workout thinking that GOD didn't want me to swim today, I might have drowned. I thanked him anyway and went directly home. I'm not going to take my swimsuit until it's open again. See you next week.
