‘Kitten-Up’ Cuero
Kitten season is out in full force in Dewitt County! The Pet Adoptions of Cuero shelter is averaging five or six calls every day from residents who are discovering litters of kittens in their garage, under their porch, falling out of their cars, or meowing at their front door. The shelter is filled with newborns to teenage kittens right on up to some senior felines and they all need homes. PAOC is doing our best to accommodate more than 40 cats and kittens presently.
Currently we are on a 'no intake' basis unfortunately. We are hoping more potential adopters will come in and view the largest inventory ever of felines at our small town local pet rescue. Every color, size, sex, type, breed, age is among the 'purr-a-tors'. Adopters can visit four rooms to find one or two that show an immediate bond with their potential human pet parent.
With kittens under the age of 6 months the shelter recommends adopting a 'pair.' A single tiny kitten can be pretty timid and hide under the bed, but pairs are playful, lively, entertaining and will always be ready for some attention.
The PAOC kittens are vet tested, given shots, treated for fleas and parasites, sandbox trained and microchipped. At maturity - usually when they weigh around 3 ½ to 4 pounds – the shelter covers the spay/neuter procedure.
The shelter is open every day of the year from 8 till noon or call for a late afternoon adoption visit. 361-243-8550 The shelter is located at 407 US Highway 183 South, Cuero 77954
