Hello my fellow Cueroites, First and foremost I start this message on a sad note. My prayers and deepest condolences go out to the family of Ruth Killough, who was involved in a vehicle-pedestrian accident, on Friday July 4th. Ms. Killough passed away due to her injuries. I talked to Caleb Davis (Son) since then and personally offered my condolences. You are in my prayers young man.
Secondly, please keep the people and families of our fellow Texans upstream on the Guadalupe River in your prayers. Such a catastrophic event unfolding this Fourth of July weekend, the Cuero Chamber of Commerce and the Cuero Development Corporation (CDC) are sponsoring an assistance drive, accepting gift cards to assist flood victims. Please contact the Chamber or the CDC for more information.
On 2 July, our 4-H International Champions arrived home from their trip to Scotland. Myself and approximately 30 folks welcomed them back at 10:40 p.m. from the Walmart parking lot. Our champions were escorted into town by a barrage of emergency vehicles with lights and sirens. The welcome parade took them through one end of town to the other. Way to represent Cuero! On Monday July 14, at the regular Council meeting at 5:00 p.m. in City Hall, the 4-H team will be recognized, and I will read a proclamation acknowledging their awesome accomplishment. At 6:30 p.m., a meet-and-greetthe- team gathering is scheduled under the library pavilion. Please plan on attending one or both events. I am certain these young adults would appreciate you.
