Greetings, Yorktown and Runge neighbors!
I’m honored to introduce myself as the newly appointed pastor of Yorktown First United Methodist and Runge First United Methodist Churches. It’s a joy to become part of this vibrant community and to begin this sacred journey together in faith and fellowship.
My name is Rev. Cathy McCorkle, and I’ve had the privilege of serving two-point charges for the past 18 years. Each appointment has offered unique blessings— shaping my ministry and enriching my spirit. My husband, Sean, and I have been married for 22 years, and we are the proud parents of four amazing adult children and one sweet granddaughter who brings light and joy into our lives.
When I’m not in the church or connecting with community, I recharge by spending time with my family and animals, crocheting colorful creations, getting lost in a good book, or heading off on a new travel adventure. These passions refresh my spirit and remind me of the diversity God has placed in our beautiful world.
One verse that has always guided me is Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” It’s a quiet reminder that even when we can’t see the whole path ahead, we can walk it with confidence, together.
I believe the church is a living body—one that embraces its neighbors, lifts each other up, and walks boldly toward God’s vision with compassion and purpose. Whether we’re gathered for worship, sharing in outreach, or pausing in prayer, I look forward to all the ways we’ll build something meaningful together.
I truly look forward to sharing life with you—not just on Sunday mornings, but throughout the week. Whether it’s through worship, a conversation over coffee, a helping hand during hard times, or celebrating moments of joy—I’m here. And I’m so ready to grow with you, in grace and love.
Thank you for the warm welcome. I can’t wait to get to know you.
Grace and peace, Rev. Cathy McCorkle
