Reader describes hospital phone service

Dear Editor, Cuero Regional Hospital has long been the cornerstone for medical care in our area. Recent years have seen expansion and upgrades to better serve their patients except in the area of the doctor office visits.

You call for an appointment and once you listen to the recording select the option. Now you are forwarded to an extension that rings 8 times. Next you get to listen to a recording that tells you how important your call is but we are all busy so please leave us a detailed message and we’ll get back to you. Anyone remember when you could call the clinic, talk to a person and get your doctor’s appointment within the same month?
