Four local 4-H members competed at the Texas State 4-H Horse Show, held July 22-24 in Bryan.
Representing DeWitt County and the Cowboy Up 4-H Club were Shelby Newman, Kaleigh Newman, Raeann Gloor and Cinley Kulik. They were the only four participants from DeWitt County to attend the state event.
Shelby Newman competed in Stakes Race, Pole Bending and Barrels, placing 14th in Stakes Race and 15th in Pole Bending.
Kaleigh Newman competed in Stakes Race, Pole Bending, Barrels and Breakaway Roping, earning a 4thplace finish in Stakes Race. Shelby and Kaleigh are the daughters of Kyle and Sara Newman of Meyersville.
Cinley Kulik participated in Stock Horse Trail, Stock Horse Pleasure and Stock Horse Horsemanship.
She is the daughter of Shane and Courtney Kulik of Yorktown.
Raeann Gloor competed in Stock Horse Trail, Stock Horse Pleasure, Stock Horse Horsemanship and Ranch Roping. She is the daughter of Ray and Amber Gloor of Westhoff.
