Some amazing talent showed up for United Cuero’s first ever “Youth Ignited Boys 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.”
The tournament was held at the Cuero Municipal Park on Saturday Aug. 9. Four teams: Gimmie 3, G.O.A.(God Above All), Holy Buckets, and 2DC went head to head for the honor of the top spot.
Referees Daylon Gibbs and Ray Harris maintained order on the court. In the end Cuero’s home town team 2DC (David Leiden, Dae Dae Bonner, and Christopher Mathis) won 1st place and the grand prize of $100 for each player. Holy Buckets took 2nd place, G.O. A. 3rd place and 4th place went to Gimmie 3.
No-one went home empty handed as 2nd 3rd and 4th place also received cash prizes of their own. United would like to thank all the players for their hard work and sportsmanship. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who made this event possible.
A second basketball tournament is in the works for next year. United works under the umbrella of the Tri-City Empowerment Council. Follow us on Facebook under the name United Cuero for information on all of our future events.
