The Meyersville Independent School District received an A rating from TEA for its performance in the 20242025 school year, according to an announcement at the district’s school board meeting Tuesday, Aug. 19.
During the meeting, the board voted to adopt a tax rate of .6669 for the upcoming tax year. That is the same tax rate assessed last year.
The 2025-2026 budget was discussed at the meeting and will be presented at a budget hearing on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 6 p.m. in the school computer lab, 1897 Meyersville Road. The meeting is open to the public and should be of interest to both parents of Meyersville students and taxpayers in the school district.
There are 167 students enrolled in Pre-K through 8th grade at Meyersville. The average daily attendance of students determines the amount of state funding received by the school. The legislature has allocated additional funds to be used to increase the salaries of teachers who have at least three years teaching experience and teach a minimum of four hours per day, face-to-face with students.
