Happy ending for lucky dog ‘Rocky’

Happy ending for lucky dog ‘Rocky’

Pet Adoptions of Cuero recently stepped up to come to the rescue of a young pup This little guy was either neglected, mistreated or just plain trying to survive on its own. A group of good Samaritans saw the pup hiding for weeks under a trailer and after many attempts and offers of food they were able to catch it.

It took a community effort to retrieve this “survivor” so they named it Rocky. Once at the PAOC shelter the pup was vetted and treated for serious mange, extreme flea infestation, internal parasites, hair loss, scabs, infections, swelling, one eye sealed shut with pus, and overall discomfort due to these multiple maladies.

The good news is that all the conditions were treatable and since Rocky’s arrival in June he has made a 100% recovery. But he needs one more important step —socialization. Rocky is now six months old and unfortunately does not know the tender touch of petting, human interaction and affection.
