Dear Editor: The Cuero Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone who made the 17th Annual World Series of Cuero Texas Hold ’Em Tournament such a success. With more than 120 players going “all in” this year, it was another unforgettable event that not only brought our community together for fun and competition, but also helped support the Chamber’s mission of promoting local business and economic growth.
Congratulations to our top players of the night: Champion Ken Tieu of Victoria, 2nd Place Lance Tipten, and 3rd Place Cuero’s own Adam Arroyo.
We are especially grateful to our sponsors who make this event possible year after year. Our Presenting Sponsors were Cuero Lube & Tire and ThriveFuel Marketing. Straight Flush Sponsors included Deutsch & Deutsch Jewelers of Victoria (sponsor of the sterling silver championship bracelet) and the City of Cuero. Our 4 of a Kind Sponsor was Weber Motor Company, and our Full House Sponsors were GBRA, Cuero Regional Hospital, Exibix, and Victoria Radio Works. A big thank you goes to Werner’s for catering, and to Shane & Renee Total Entertainment for the casino tables and entertainment. We are grateful to The Venue on Church Street for providing such a great location to host this event. Special thanks also to Keith Goebel, Corbin, and Kim for running another smooth and exciting tournament.
Also, thank you to all of our volunteers, ambassadors, and board members for their time and energy, and to our administrative assistant, Sara Blain, for her hard work organizing the players.
The Chamber is proud to see this event continue to thrive after 17 years, and we thank the community for helping us make it a winning hand once again.
