The Yorktown Kitty Kats continued their hot streak, claiming a dominant home victory over the Luling Eagles in straight sets, 25-6, 25-18, 25-17.
The win extends the team’s streak to two games, following a hard-fought 26-24, 2523 victory over Kingsville on Saturday in the Beeville Tournament.
Against the Lady Eagles, Hayley Russell led the offense with nine kills, while middle blockers Gracie Stehling and Claire Person added four each. Serving was a strong suit, as the Kitty Kats combined for 22 aces, with sophomore Palyn Koopmann contributing six and senior setter Carsyn Brown five.
Defensively, Koopmann, Avery Martin, and Brown anchored the back row with six, five, and five digs, respectively. Brown also recorded 12 assists to lead the offense.
