Lady Pirates get off to ‘great’ start

RTICLE The Lady Pirates volleyball team is off to a great start this season. The team is young with six freshmen, making up over two-thirds of the team.

Coach Randy Castillo is proud of how the team is coming together and they show great potential with their overall cohesiveness and teamwork. The Lady Pirates have played in three tournaments placing 1st in the Woodsboro Bronze Division, 1st in the Kenedy Silver Bracket, and 2nd in the Nordheim Tournament hosted this past weekend.

They fell short in a tie breaker set for the championship to Falls City JV 15-17. All-tourney awards went to Senior Vanessa Lopez, Freshman Taydym Schuenemann and Freshman Ally Hoefling.
