Suicide Prevention Month
In recognition of Suicide Prevention Month, Cuero ISD invites the community to its annual Suicide Prevention Walk on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Gobbler Stadium. The event will feature food trucks, mental health and wellness vendors, free supplies, valuable resources, and music. Join us as we come together to raise awareness and support for this important cause. The event is sponsored by Cuero ISD and Pilot Club of Cuero.
Proper Care of Trees Keep
Cuero Beautiful will host a free educational program, “Proper Care of Trees” presented by DeWitt County Extension Agent Anthony Netardus, at the Cuero Public Library community room Thursday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. The program coincides with native plant month. Plow Day

Kozielski Family Reunion
The Anton and Lucy Ficus Kozielski Family Reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Yorktown Fire Hall. The hall is located at 107 W. Main St. in Yorktown. Fall Sausage Feast
The Lindenau Rifle Club’s Annual Fall Sausage Feast will be held Sunday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-sale Tickets Only - $15 each. The meal consists of sausage, German potatoes, stuffed cabbage, and pinto beans. Plates are Drive Through only at the eating stand. Tickets can be purchased at Security Storage, 115 E. S. Railroad, the DeWitt County Co-op, and Anders Auto Supply, or from a Lindenau Rifle Club member, through Friday, Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. To pre-order fresh sausage by the pound, while supply lasts, call Curtis Koenig at 361-564-8148. The Cuero Chamber’s 2025 Women in Business Luncheon will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at The Venue on Church Street. Gonzales ICA Chapter Meeting
The Gonzales Chapter of the Independent Cattleman’s Association of Texas will meet at VFW Hall, 3302 Hardwood Road in Gonzales Thursday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m. The program will include Stewart Pickett with Atzenhoffer’s Velocity Powersports on the Hired Hand Program and agency updates from the Texas Animal Health Commission. There will be a beef meal and all producers are welcome.
20th Annual Neil Schuenemann Memorial Blood Drive
The 20th Annual Neil Schuenemann Memorial Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Nordheim. The blood mobile will be set up just off of Broadway next to City Hall. Order of Christian Initiation
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) begins Thursday, Oct. 2nd, at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Yorktown. This process is for those interested in joining the Catholic faith, those needing to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation), and those returning to the faith. 2025 Fall Sweep
Keep Cuero Beautiful hosts the 2025 Fall Sweep for cleanup of litter in Cuero neighborhoods Saturday, Oct 4. Keep TX Beautiful supports this cleanup with supplies. Teams and individuals should meet at 8:30 AM at the Cuero Market Pavilion for light breakfast, supplies, and assignments. After cleaning up assigned area by 11 a.m., all are to report to Environmental Services Dept. on E Broadway to weigh litter. Top three teams in weight of litter will receive $100 each to ‘pay forward’ to their favorite local non profit. Contact the Cuero Chamber, 361-275-2112, to register team by Oct 2.

Cuero Turkeyfest and Marriam Midway will be selling presale wristband carnival tickets for $20 each for the event on Oct. 10-11. You will redeem the coupon at the midway ticket booth for one wristband to used for one of the sessions listed below. Wristband times are as followed: Thursday: 6-10 Friday: 6-11 Saturday: Noon-5 or 611 Sunday: 1-7. Restoration Foundation Celebration
Join Tri-City Empowerment Council for a 3-Day Restoration Foundation Celebration from Oct. 10 through Oct. 12. The celebration will start on Friday with Urban Soul (Live R&B Band) with a BBQ dinner from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Friar Ag Center here in Cuero. The second event is the TCEC 4th Annual Gospel Fest held at the same location on Saturday from 1 to 6:30 p.m. with recording artist and producer Chester D. T. Baldwin, musical guest Christopher D. Spivey & Company, and Cuero Native Devyn Whittington. Also performing is Comedians Hazel Marie and Izzy.
